The Director of the Secretariat of the Laity meets the animators of the ChMMF

11/05/2013: Brazil

On 30 April, the animators and accompaniers of the fraternities of the Champagnat Movement of the Marist Family (ChMMF) of the Province of « Rio Grande do Sul » met with the Director of the Secretariat of the Laity, Br Javier Espinosa.

The object of the meeting was to present to Br Javier the activities and projects which the Province is implementing for the formation of the laity. During the presentation, the members of the fraternities and the brother accompaniers shared testimonies on the living of the Marist charism.

Br Javier Espinosa presented the structure and the projects of the Secretariat and shared about the experiences of the ChMMF in other countries. He highlighted the experiences involving Marist laity other than the ChMMF, as well as the experiences of joint formation of brothers and laity already existing in other countries. For Br Javier, « the proposition of joint formation is something the XXI General Chapter strongly insisted on ; the experiences realised give witness to a strong revitalising of the charism for persons with the Marist vocation, be they brothers or lay people. »
