A contribution from Brother Eduardo Gatti

22/02/2006: Argentina

A CD that contains a broad chronology and documentation written by and on Marcellin Champagnat has arrived at the office of the Director of Publications through Brother Pedro Herreros, General Councillor. Brother Eduardo Gatti tells us in the introduction that he has put together the pieces of this “mosaic of Marist Patrimony” through patient work “during many years and as motivation for my religious study”, taking the Chronology of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools (1976) as a reference document.

“The aim of this CD,” he says, “is to help, somehow, in the study of the Charism of the Founder, using largely the existing material in Marist Patrimony.”

Brother has gathered together in this archival work the results of his experience in Guadalajara, at the Centre of Marist Patrimony (CEPAM) with Brother Aureliano Brambila. His 206 pages of Chronology is written in the font Times New Roman size 10, formatted in Word, in four columns. The text is aided by numerous “links” that allow you to move easily from one document to another. The chronology starts in 1683 and concludes in 1903.
