Year 12 Marist Forum

04/09/2006: Australia

It was wonderful to have a time that we could just sit, reflect and create, especially in such a beautiful atmosphere as Mittagong.
The Year 12 Marist Forum was a new venture for 2006 which took place at Mittagong. This was a follow up to the Year 11 Forum from last year and gave these students an opportunity to continue to develop an understanding of their vocation and choices in life. Social justice issues were also a key focus of the weekend.

The students selected had to display a capacity for service, a keen interest in social justice issues, an open mind and a generous and community minded spirit. These characteristics were clearly evident amongst these fine young people.

The Participants reflect…..

The weekend was an excellent opportunity to gather with fellow Marist students and ex-students and to steer our lives in the right direction.

Eye opening and increased my respect for others and their struggles.

The weekend gave me a great understanding of what was really happening around me.

I really enjoyed listening to other people’s experiences.

The creative time was a great opportunity to spend some time alone, gather up my thoughts and slow my mind down.

The Mass got me more involved and interested and really appealed to me!
