Perpetual profession of Brother Roger Séguin

30/09/2007: Canada

For the first time in twenty-six years, the Marist Brothers’ Canada Province is celebrating the perpetual profession of a Canadian Brother. On Saturday, September 8, in the city of Laval near Montreal, Brother Roger Séguin dedicated his life forever to the Lord.

It must be pointed out that the new perpetual-professed Brother is a singular case. At seventy two years of age, upon the death of his wife, Roger entered the Marist Brothers with the encourage-ment of his daughter and his grandchildren; Roger is both father and grandfather. The case is a first for our Province and perhaps for the Institute. Roger made his novitiate under Brother Powell Prieur’s direction, and after four years of temporary vows, he has now dedicated his life forever to the Lord.
