Friday, May 7
At Collège Notre-Dame des Anges in Espira de l’Ag, Brother Maurice Bergeret will give a conference on Marist pedagogy for the Diocese’s Catholic teachers. In the evening, at the Diocesan Center in Perpignan, Brothers Michel Voute and Alain Delorme will host a video presentation about Henri for people interested in learning more about his life and mission.

Saturday, May 8
In Matemale, the town where Henri was born, there will be a Mass celebrated by the new Bishop, André Marceau. After that, the Mayor and his Council will designate the square in front of the Church as “Henri Vergès Place”.

Sunday, May 9
At the Cathedral in Perpignan, Father Belaïd Ould Aoudia, Delegate of His Excellency Henri Teissier, Archbishop of Algiers, will celebrate Mass in honor of Brother Henri Vergès and Sister Paul Hélène. Father Belaïd is the former Vicar General of Algiers and was chaplain for the community on Ben Cheneb Street. He was the one called upon to identify Henri’s body in the morgue at the Bab-el-Oued Hospital.
