Marist Camp 2004 - St Pauls Community

28/05/2004: Zambia

For the past few years, youth have been organised by the young brothers of the four communities of Zambia (Chassa, St Pauls, Kalulushi and Chingola). Zambia is a sector of the Marist Province of Southern Africa. This year was no exception. Between 21st and 25th of April, 70 youths camped at St Pauls High School for four days to discuss among other things:
· Importance of education for the youth (Bro Evans MUSAKANYA)
· Vocations (Bro Virgilio BWALYA)
· Use of symbols and Signs in the Church (Bro Patrick KASABA BUSHILYA)
· Influence of Media on the youth (Bros Chiza Phiri and Innocent MULENGA)
This year, instead of restricting themselves to the local youths, the young brothers invited twenty youths from MUKONCHI, the nearby parish. This was an opportune time for the youth to celebrate the Easter Season with a difference. Hoping that the youth may share what they learnt with the ones who were not able to attend the camp. I am calling upon these youths to Make a Difference in a positive way. May the spirit of togetherness that exists among the brothers continue to shine!
